Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 6:10 PM Dec. 18, 2025 – National Weather Service
...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 1 PM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Up to 1 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...Southern New Haven, Southern Middlesex and Southern New London Counties. * WHEN...From 8 AM to 1 PM EST Friday. * COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Minor flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect up to 1 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. * SHORELINE IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 3 to 5 ft during the time of high tide will result in beach erosion, wave splashover bulkheads exacerbating flooding along shoreline roads and properties, with minor damage possible to shoreline structures. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy rain during the time of high tide may exacerbate flood impacts. This forecast is leaned towards a higher end flood impact scenario, to account for slower trend in cold frontal passage and potential coincidence with heavy rain. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. && Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
